Mississippi River Sediment Diversions

Louisiana is home to some of the best fishing and seafood in the world. The Gulf of Mexico has proven to be one of the most dependable fisheries in the entire world, shown by its annual exports. However, Louisiana is losing more  coastal land now than ever before, and unless major changes are implemented soon, our coasts will pass the point of salvation. Our project aimed to determine people's knowledge of the situation and their willingness to help conserve this precious natural resource. The main ideologies present through the course of this project were anthropocentric, from fisherman using their harvests to feed themselves and others, and ecocentric in the wetland scientists working together to educate citizens about the perils of our coastal landscape.
